Privacy Policy for Insight Capture

Insight Capture ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users capture and organize cognitive insights from web pages and videos.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information you actively provide or that is necessary for the Extension to function:
- Content you choose to capture: text you highlight, video subtitles from the current page, and notes you type into the Extension
- Page context: the URL and title of the page where you trigger a capture
- Voice input: if you use the voice feature, audio is temporarily sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription and is not stored by us
- Usage logs: we collect interaction data including search queries, card views, recall operations, and feature usage to optimize product experience and improve recommendation accuracy
How We Use Your Information
- Your captured insights are processed by Claude (Anthropic) to extract structured knowledge cards
- All data is stored in your personal account on Supabase, a secure cloud database
- We do not sell, share, or disclose your data to any third party except the service providers listed below
Third-Party Services
- Anthropic (Claude API): processes your captured text to generate insight cards
- OpenAI: Whisper API transcribes voice input; text-embedding-3-small generates semantic vectors for the Recall feature and knowledge domain matching
- Supabase: stores your insight cards, usage logs, and account data in your personal database
We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
Data Retention
Your data remains in your account until you choose to delete it. You can delete individual cards at any time within the Extension or PWA.
